Seven family farmers who have developed and implemented exemplary conservation and resource stewardship management practices that protect and enhance the environment while conserving precious natural resources were presented with this year's Environmental Stewardship Awards during an awards program held June 23 at the Ohio Statehouse. This year's Ohio State Fair will showcase Ohio's 600 century farms in the “Keep a good thing growing” exhibit in the Voinovich Livestock Center. In the interactive exhibit designed by the Ohio Historical Society, fairgoers can search in the Hall of Century Farms, hear recorded interviews with several of the century farm owners who provide a glimpse into the transition of their farms into modern operations, and browse three-dimensional displays that compare past and present technologies.
